I can tell you a lot about Sozopol. Probably you feel the same way, too. It is everyone’s favourite place, and each one has some more special memories than the other. And this is because Sozopol never refuses to accommodate anyone, which may turn out nasty at a certain point, in August, for example. But after that, the tourists disappear and only the real fans remain.
Sozopol is the first actual settlement on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Its history is well researched and there is a very
nice exhibition in the local museum. In the main street, they make the tastiest oriental pancakes. The question has always been whether to buy a salty or a sweet one.
As for me, I visit Sozopol at any time of the year, but I can offer you two milestones: the Old Town (in terms of place) and the Apolonia Arts Festival (in terms of time). The islands are bonus tracks.
