I was in Zheravna during the winter. There was no snow, but every evening, a freezing white fog came down from the mountain. Narrow streets paved with cobbles. Carved porches, fountains, cows, hens ... „If they could speak“, as they call it.
The local people are very friendly and calm. A beautiful Bulgarian village with a beautiful name. I wasn't able to find out exactly where the word Zheravna comes from, but to me
it sounds very nice.
After you have walked around, take some time to visit the neighbouring villages and maybe Kotel. There they even have a real museum of natural science. They do not turn the central heating on. Another reason for us to come again during the summer.
